Right now, in gaming and the broader entertainment space, there is an epidemic of things existence branded "woke". The critically acclaimed Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is woke because it features a single, completely optional gay romance scene. Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet is woke because it features an Asian female as the head character, and Silent Hill 2's 2024 remake is woke because it features a woke neon sign that was also actually in the original game.

I have encountered multiple takes saying that Split Fiction writing is bad.

Nitpicking. Split Fiction is pure gameplay joy about characters growing to understand, accept, and value each other's differences both in personalities and genres. It is a simple story about growing to be kind to one another despite the differences.

People just seem unable to adore simple things nowadays. Simple is not synonymous of bad. If you allowed your inner kid to die, that's not a game's problem.

Split Fiction doesn't call for to be any deeper. It says that AI generated crap will never replace human creativity, and that's the kind of subject that is black and white type of simple. There's no grey area or complexity to the theme, and that's how it should be. There's no debate to be had.

Mio and Zoe are wonderful characters, and I hope they obtain a massive fan base that knows how to enjoy straightforward and good heroines, who actually end up having complexity to their personalities as well.
