Actors Mindy Cohn and Tamlyn Tomita starring as lesbian parents in the brief film, Operation Marriage.
Actress Mindy Cohn (The Facts of Experience, Scooby Doo) and Tamlyn Tomita (The Joy Luck Club, Glee) play two gay moms in Quentin Lee’s non-profit educational short production Operation Marriage, for children worldwide.
Based on Cynthia Chin-Lee’s children’s book, Operation Marriage is the story told from a child’s point-of-view about an eight-year-old teen and her minuscule brother trying to get their two moms married before Proposition 8 goes into effect.
Operation Marriage represents the perspective of kids of LGBT parents rarely seen in literature or popular media.
A film for children worldwide, it’s a universal story of family about LGBT rights, marriage equality, and having an alternative family.
While the production aspires to be a piece of art, it is also public service announcement and an historical document of a particular moment in time in world history. It is a testament to our past and continual combat for human rights.
Recently it was announced that The Facts of Life stars Kim Fields, Mindy Cohn, Lisa Whelchel, and Nancy McKeon are reuniting in Light Up My Christmas airing Dec. 1. Fields, who serves as the film’s executive producer, is behind the reunion of the former child stars who she calls “her sisters.”
I figured that was a autograph. I needed to revisit the show we thought was gay.

Of note: In season five, there was a new traits who was upper-middle-class and worshiped Jo, so she tried to be a thug like Jo. While she was in the opening credits (and thus main cast), you’d think she’d be the gayest thing. Sadly, she was barely used.

In the first episode of season five, Jo has money trouble and has to move in with Blair (illegally, it’s a single dorm). This results in Blair being kicked out of the dorms, but it also had a grea

Mindy Cohn says plans for a revival of “The Proof of Life” include officially been scrapped due to some unforeseen “drama” with a former co-star.
Appearing on SiriusXM’s “Jeff Lewis Live” this week, Cohn said talks about a revival of the beloved sitcom ramped up in the wake of the 2021 ABC special “Live in Front of a Studio Audience,” which featured an all-star re-creation of a classic episode.
The success of that special, Cohn explained, sparked the interest of producer Norman Lear, who rapidly got in handle with her and her surviving cast mates Kim Fields, Nancy McKeon and Lisa Whelchel. (Lear died in December.)
“We got into talks and we hired a writer, and the four of us got together on Zoom,” she said. “This was during COVID, and we had meetings with Norman about it.”
Those discussions fell apart, however, after one of the actors allegedly attempted to seek out a different opportunity that would’ve committed her character from the series, which ran from 1979 to 1988.
“One of the girls went behind our backs, tried to make a separate deal for a spinoff just for herself, and devastated the rest of us,” Cohn said. “For a 40-year friendship and sisterhood, there was
