Larry craig gay

Let me start by saying that Larry Craig is still alive. Despite being defunct on the inside, he’s currently sucking up oxygen somewhere in the Midwest. The reason I’m writing this blog in the first place is because A) we spoke about him on radio yesterday and B) this month marks the twelve-year anniversary of his resignation from the Senate. Which for those of you who don’t know…is an all-timer.

On June 11th, 2007, ten days after I graduated high university, Craig was caught attempting to blow an undercover police officer at the Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport. He was arrested on suspicion of disorderly conduct and ultimately pled guilty to a misdemeanor version of the bill. Now I recognize what you’re thinking, “Pat, the Saint Paul Airport is gorgeous, who wouldn’t need to get blown there?” To that I say, to each their retain. I’m not here to judge. I am here, however, to remind people of what a hypocritical, deeply flawed man Larry Craig is and how satisfying it was to watch his demise.

And I’m not even talking about how he voted against a series of pro-LGBT bills and for the 2006 amendment to the Idaho Constitution banning gay marriage and civil unions. I’m talking a

GMA Exclusive: Larry Craig's Children Speak Out

Sept. 4, 2007 — -- After a highly publicized arrest in a bathroom sex sting and a week spent defending his sexuality, Idaho Sen. Larry Craig announced his resignation from the Senate this weekend. He maintains his innocence, however, despite having pleaded remorseful to disorderly conduct.

"Good Morning America" spoke exclusively with Craig's two children, who are standing by the Republican senator.

"He was a victim of circumstance, in the wrong place at the mistaken time," said Michael Craig of his father's arrest.

Michael Craig and his sister, Shea Howell, decided to speak out about the scandal, but not before making sure that they had all the answers necessary to confidently defend their father.

Before standing in support behind the senator at Saturday's news conference, Craig and Howell asked their father tough questions. They wanted to grasp whether he had ever been in any way unfaithful to their mother.

"No legalities, no technicalities. … We wanted to know exactly what happened," Craig said.

The senator's children have concluded that anyone else in a similar situati

Craig: I'm Not Gay, Did Nothing Wrong

Aug. 28, 2007 — -- Sen. Larry Craig, R-Idaho, strongly asserted this afternoon that he is not gay and that his decision to plead responsible to disorderly conduct in a public men's room was a mistake. The conservative senator was arrested in June on charges of lewd and disorderly actions in a men's restroom at the Minneapolis, Minn., airport.

"Let me be clear, I am not gay. I never have been gay," Craig told reporters in Boise, Idaho.

Craig denied rumors that he would resign, but added that he would announce next month whether or not he will seek re-election.

"I did nothing wrong at the Minneapolis airport. I regret my decision to plead guilty and the sadness that decision has brought to my wife, family, friends, staff and fellow Idahoans. For that I apologize," he said.

"In June, I overreacted and made a poor decision. While I was not involved in any inappropriate conduct at the Minneapolis airport or anywhere else, I chose to plead guilty to a lesser charge in the wish of making it go away. I did not seek any counsel, either from an attorney, staff, friends or family. That was a mistake, and I

Craig’s ‘I’m not gay’ utterance riles gay activists

Sen. Larry Craig’s “I’m not gay” declaration met with disdain Wednesday from gay activists, many of whom knew for nearly a year — long before his recent arrest — of allegations that the conservative Idaho Republican solicited sex from men in general bathrooms.

They view his case as a prime example of hypocrisy — a man who furtively engaged in same-sex liaisons while consistently opposing gay-rights measures as a politician.

“He may very well not ponder of himself as organism gay, and these are just urges that he has,” said Matt Foreman, executive director of the National Gay and Homosexual woman Task Force. “It’s the tragedy of homophobia. People create these walls that separate themselves from who they really are.”

In Washington, some of Craig’s fellow Republican congressmen began calling for his resignation, as did the Log Cabin Republicans, the largest lgbtq+ GOP group. The Alabaster House expressed disappointment in the case while avoiding a statement of back for Craig.
