You might think that being the host of a high-profile TV show would cause a artist to watch his mouth.
You'd be wrong.
At least in the case of Adam Carolla, the comedian who is also one of the hosts of "The Automobile Show," which launched in July on Speed TV.
In his most recent podcast, using the tongue-in-cheek Internet campaign to have Sesame Street's Bert and Ernie gain married, Carolla embarked on a foul-mouthed and abusive rant against gay, lesbian, and transgendered people.
He even named names, going so far as target Cher's son Chaz Bono (born Chastity) specifically.
Confusingly, he claimed LGBTQ people are "ruining his life" and commanded all of them to "shut up."
It could almost bring to mind the famous quote, "The lady doth protest too much, methinks."
We've editing out the NSFW parts of his rant, of which there are quite a few. Read here for some of the uglier, more graphic language.
Needless to say, protest and pushback arrived immediately.
Carolla then tweeted a half-hearted non-apology, saying, "I’m sorry my comments were hurtful. That being said, I’m a comedian, not a politician."
And there it stands.

Adam Carolla's Totally-Not-Gay, Dudely Dude COCKtail Guide
“Carolla found himself half-a-glass short of red wine one evening, and… topped his drink off with a heavy-handed vodka pour. The mixture was strong and bitter, so he also threw in some orange juice and a merge of other fruits from the fridge. And so Mangria was born.”

Machismopolitan – Pour 1.5 oz of cheap vodka into a cocktail shaker. Before moving to the next step, shoot finger-guns at the closest person watching. Then toss in 1 oz Cointreau, .25 oz cranberry juice, and a 16 oz Monster Force Drink. I prefer the Ultra Grave Dickin’ Assault flavor (sugar-free). Cram some ice in there, and treat that shaker like it’s your bitch. Funnel everything back into the empty Monster can and shotgun it.
My Tie – When you want to give off that Polynesian colonizer vibe with a hint of sophistication, just throw together a shit-ton of brightness rum, dark rum, and whatever tropical shit you can find in the ethnic part of the supermarket.
No-Homojito – Muddle the fuck out of some sugar, a mint sprig, and a homosexual lime. Add brightness rum as a top and shadowy rum as a bottom. Garnish with mint le
Comedian Adam Carolla: gays should 'shut up'
Hollywood - Comedian Adam Carolla is under blaze for saying that gays and lesbians are "ruining his life" and should "shut up."
The comments from the former "Man Show" host came on his podcast last Thursday, when he spent several minutes ranting about LGBT issues.
He also said that the abbreviation "LGBT" should be replaced by "YUCK."
"When did we start giving a sh*t about these people?" Carolla asked.
Carolla also used the phrase "ching chong" to refer to a person of Asian descent.
The Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) demanded an apology for the comments, and Carolla offered a half-hearted one through his PR person: "I'm sorry my comments were hurtful. I'm a comedian, not a politician."
Carolla has crossed the line from edgy to offensive before; in 2003, his "Loveline" show was dumped from radio stations in Hawaii after he said that Hawaiians are "stupid," "in-bred," "retarded" people and among the "dumbest people we have" in the Joined States.
Carolla's podcast is among the most popular podcast downloads in the world.
