Former Palm Springs dwelling of musician Trini Lopez going up for auction this month
Casa Lopez, the Palm Springs residence of late artist Trini Lopez, is headed to auction April 13.
The four-bedroom, five-bath, mid-century latest home at 1139 Abrigo Road in the Vista Las Palmas neighborhood was designed by architect William Krisel and built by Alexander Construction in 1961.
It includes the unique pool and spa, two en suite bedrooms with exterior access, and the casita that Lopez used as a analyze and music room.
Some of the other noted features are exposed beam ceilings, mirrored walls, patterned masonry and a single-story floor prepare that blends indoor and outdoor space.
Nate Schar, director of Luxury Real Estate for Heritage Auctions, said the auction house has not done any appraisals on the property, but homes in the neighborhood are priced around $1.5 million to $2 million.
Bidding for Casa Lopez will take place online and those who wish to put in a bid are required to register through Heritage Auctions prior to the sale at realestate.ha.com.

Trini Lopez: A Musical Legend with Deep Ties to Palm Springs
Trinidad "Trini" Lopez was much more than a beloved singer and actor — he was a fixture of Palm Springs glamorous social scene, a man whose melody and philanthropy resonated in the desert long after his iconic hits faded from the airwaves. With 16 Top 40 hits from 1963 to 1968, Lopez achieved fame as both a chart-topping performer and a screen presence. But his connection to Palm Springs would specify the latter years of his life.
The Home that Defined His Later Years
Lopez's midcentury modern home was at 1139 Abrigo Thoroughfare in the coveted Vista Las Palmas neighborhood, which became his desert sanctuary. Designed by the celebrated architect William Krisel and built by Alexander Construction, the four-bedroom, five-bathroom home perfectly embodies the era's sleek, stylish design. Trini bought the home in the mid-1960s, but it wasn't until 1981 that he made Palm Springs his full-time residence. His house became the backdrop to many of his most cherished memories, and even after he died in 2020, it remained a symbol of his life in the desert. The house was eventually sold, but its legacy endu
Dave Grohl Reveals Adv Musician Trini Lopez’s Impact on Foo Fighters
You might not immediately connect the dots of '50s, '60s and '70s singing star Trini Lopez when you think of new day rockers Foo Fighters, but with Lopez's death Tuesday (Aug. 11), Dave Grohl revealed there is a significant tie in his career to Lopez.
In a series of tweets, Dave Grohl revealed that every album the Foo Fighters have recorded has included the use of his signature 1967 red Trini Lopez guitar.
"Today the world sadly lost yet another legend, Trini Lopez. Trini not only left a lovely musical legacy of his own, but also unknowingly helped shape the sound of the Foo Fighters from evening one," explained Grohl. "Every album we have ever made, from the first to the latest, was recorded with my red 1967 Trini Lopez signature guitar. It is the sound of our band, and my most prized possession from the day I bought it in 1992. Thank you, Trini for all of your contributions. You will be missed by many, remembered by all. RIP Trini Lopez"
Lopez was a pop singer and guitarist who started his career in 1958 with the song "The Right to Rock." H
