Contrary to the left is straight and right is gay ear piercings, when a lip is pierced, right denotes straight and left denotes gay. They tended to earn their lips pierced on the left due to being right-handed and therefore generally tilting their brain to the left when performing sexual acts. Ears
Your first consideration is the anatomy of your ears. Ears come in a tremendous range of shapes and sizes—no two are alike, and often vary from one side to the other. They may be subtle differences, but the distinctions are important when it comes to the possibility and achievement of a piercing. The helix on your right ear may be proficient to handle an industrial when the left may be too small, or your antihelical fold may interfere on one side but not the other.
Your second consideration is the aesthetics. Some things to hold in mind when deciding which ear to pierce are how do you wear your hair—does it cover one ear and not the other? If you want the piercing to be seen (and who doesn’t?), then obviously the bare ear. The side on which you move to sleep can also play a role in your decision. A piercing may be uncomfortable to rest on, so choose the opposite side.

On a particularly grey, drizzly Saturday morning my friend set off to get her ear pierced. The decision had been made the night before amidst several other similarly serious lifestyle alterations.
The money had been counted out. Support had been garnered. After much intense discussion, the prettier nostril was identified and noted.
I was a bit late and arrived just as my acquaintance was being lead in to a back room. The gal in charge of her had a good few piercings, which was reassuring, and there was a crumpled bag of Meanies in the bin which showed that this was a entertaining place to work.
“So,” I said, leaning against the door, “Which nostril is the homosexual nostril?” To be honest, I thought I’d been post-gay hilarious, but piercing lady was not much impressed. “There is none,” she said drily and reached for her marker.

A few years ago when I was looking into nose piercings (it wasn’t until last year that I finally worked up the nerve and got it done) I discovered multiple websites debating which was the ideal side to get it done on.
I learned that in India the left side is preferred because it supposedly makes giving birth easier. I also learned that some people examine a particular side to represent sexuality.
Granted, there were no legitimate websites that provided me with this information. My past English teachers would frown if they saw me consuming information from such unreliable sources. Still, I found many of these websites where one would ask “which side should I fetch my nose piercing on?” and people would battle it out in the comments claiming “Get it on the right side! If you get it on the left side, it means you’re gay!” or “No, it’s the right side that means you’re gay!”
I wasn’t too conflicted. Does the average person actuallyknow these so-called “facts” about the connection between nose piercing and sexuality? I assumed then, and still presume now, that they don’t.
